Rowdiness in the Room: The Big 5 Pyramid Model Practices

Facilitator: Michelle Farrell

Session Description: Currently, many classrooms are overrun with big behaviors, individualized interventions and crisis or safety plans. These plans often drain staff of time, energy and resources - with no guarantee that they will change behaviors. Research has shown the use of evidence based practices at the classroom level can reduce challenging behaviors for children receiving individualized support. The Pyramid Model Framework has identified five practices that create environments that support all students to succeed. This session will outline these “Big Five” practices and give you strategies that you can begin implementing immediately to transform your classroom!

Behavior Interventions: Strategies for Success for the Strong Willed Child

Facilitator: Jana Hoover

SessionDescription:Ever wondered why there isn’t a pre-made behavior intervention plan to address common challenging behaviors like hitting? Or biting? Because it is not about the behavior! This session will explore the ways adults can view behavior with a lens of curiosity and will outline common interventions that target specific behavior functions.
